About Trails to Tails
Rational Animal launched its first edition of Trails
to Tails in fall 2004 as part of the campaign to
help the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals
make this a ‘no-kill” city. Our mission
is to provide widespread public access to animal
adoption information, with the goal of increasing
adoption numbers in our city’s shelters.
Now in its second year, Trails to Tails continues
to grow. The map was printed as the centerfold in this
falls New
York Tails magazine,
and is being distributed through public libraries,
YMCAs, health centers, cafes, bookstores, grocery stores,
pet supply stores and events in the 5 boroughs. It
has received a lot of praise from local veterinarians,
pet supply store owners, dog run associations and animal
welfare groups.
